We value our role as a place where community gathers. Serving as a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community is incredibly important to Commonplace. It is at the mission of Commonplace to create inclusive spaces as we aim to build Solid Ground for All.

Garfield Community Farm exists to serve the Garfield neighborhood with fresh, organic produce while bringing ecological restoration to our land. We do this work with hundreds of volunteers each year. Regular volunteer opportunities, food distribution for those in need, CSA – produce subscription, educational opportunities.

Pittsburgh oldest gay bar offering a weekly drag show, throughout the year, accepting gift donations to give out during the holidays, and constantly raising money to give back into the community.

PVS offers monthly discussion and social connection meetings including LGBTQIA+ focused content and connections to free resources to learn more about veganism. We are also in the process of developing a plant-based food pantry resource in the Pittsburgh region. We also offer volunteer opportunities.

412 Food Rescue responds to the disconnect between the 40% of our food supply that goes to waste and the 1 in 8 people that are food insecure. Utilizing technology and civic engagement, we rescue perfectly good surplus food from businesses and redirect it to nonprofit organizations who serve people in poverty.

We are a small cafe and catering business and earmark meals for those who are in need. Social services may contact us to ask to deliver a meal or meals to those who are experiencing illness, unemployment, or other transitional issues that are causing food insecurity.

We are a queer owned and operated cat cafe—all of our staff and volunteers are queer and we seek to be a safe space for the queer community.
